The Booming Graded Sealed Game Market
Sealed graded video games have exploded into a serious collector category over the last few years, and it’s one of the most exciting things happening on our pawn counter. We buy and pawn against graded sealed games every week.
Grading Companies We Recognize
- WATA Games — the dominant grader for sealed video games. WATA uses a 10-point overall grade plus a letter seal grade (A++, A+, A, B+, etc.). A WATA 9.6 A+ sealed Super Mario Bros NES is six-figure territory; lesser titles in clean grades are still strong four- and five-figure pieces.
- VGA (Video Game Authority) — older and still respected, especially for pre-2017 grades. VGA grades 80, 85, 90, 95 carry meaningful collector premiums.
- CGC Video Games — newer entrant, gaining ground.
Sealed Grails We Always Want
- Sealed Super Mario Bros (NES, especially black-box variants), Super Mario 64, Super Mario World
- Sealed Legend of Zelda series — gold-cart NES, Ocarina of Time N64, Majora’s Mask
- Sealed Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Diamond, Pearl
- Sealed Final Fantasy series — especially FFVII PS1, FFVI/III SNES
- Sealed Earthbound SNES (with the famously valuable big box) and Chrono Trigger SNES
- Sealed Metroid, Mega Man, Castlevania NES/SNES
- Sealed Halo trilogy, Resident Evil 1-4, Silent Hill 2 PS2
CIB Cartridge Premium Titles
Even without grading, complete-in-box cartridges with manual, inserts, and clean box command big premiums over loose carts. Our buyers always check for:
- Pokemon Crystal, Gold, Silver CIB GBC (especially Crystal, the lowest-print of the three)
- Pokemon Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen CIB GBA
- Earthbound CIB SNES with full strategy guide and scratch-and-sniff card
- Chrono Trigger CIB SNES
- Final Fantasy III (US) / VI (JP) CIB SNES
- Conker’s Bad Fur Day CIB N64
- Mario Party trilogy CIB N64
- Suikoden II CIB PS1 — one of the most valuable PS1 RPGs
- Mega Man X3 CIB SNES
- Stadium Events NES — yes, the holy grail
“I inherited a bin of N64 stuff from my late uncle — Pokemon Stadium, Banjo-Tooie, Conker’s Bad Fur Day all CIB with maps and inserts, plus a clean Atomic Purple console. The buyer at the Miami Gardens store actually pulled out the Conker box and checked the inserts piece by piece. He explained why CIB matters and paid me well above what eBay ‘sold’ listings suggested for loose carts. Honest, knowledgeable, and zero pressure to take the offer.” — Marcos D., Doral
Controllers, Headsets, and Accessories
Modern accessories are a real category. We buy and pawn against:
- Xbox Elite Series 2 and Elite Series 2 Core controllers
- Sony DualSense Edge pro controllers
- Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, special-edition Joy-Cons
- Logitech G Pro, Thrustmaster T300/T-GT, Fanatec racing wheels and pedals
- Astro A50 Gen 4 and X Edition wireless headsets
- SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless, HyperX Cloud III
- Razer BlackShark V2 Pro, Audeze Maxwell
- Meta Quest accessories — Elite Strap with Battery, Touch Pro controllers
- Vintage controllers — N64 with clean joystick, original GameCube WaveBird, Sega Saturn 3D pad
How We Price Video Games
Our pricing draws on real-time auction comps and recent sold listings — we don’t pull numbers from thin air, and we’ll explain how we got there.
Modern Hardware
Current-gen consoles trade close to a clear secondary-market spread. Boxes, original cables, and unbroken seals add. Missing power cables or scuffed casings subtract. Bring everything you have.
Retro Loose Carts and Discs
Loose retro is priced primarily by recent eBay sold listings and PriceCharting comps, adjusted for label condition (clean vs. scuffed/written-on), shell condition, and whether the cart still saves (battery still good on Pokemon Gen 1-2 carts is a meaningful add).
CIB Cartridges
Box quality, manual presence, inserts, and matching serials all count. A box with creased corners and a torn flap is worth far less than a clean one. We grade these in front of you.
Graded Sealed
For WATA-, VGA-, or CGC-graded sealed games, we comp against recent Heritage Auctions, Goldin, and PWCC sales. The grade, the seal grade, the print run, and the title’s underlying demand all factor in. We pay strongly on graded grails and we beat any written offer.
“Brought in a WATA 9.4 A+ sealed Pokemon Crystal that I’d been holding since the grading boom. Two other Miami pawn shops had quoted me numbers I knew were way under recent comps. Advantage actually pulled up the Heritage results on the spot, walked me through the comp set, and made an offer that beat the next-best by a real margin. I went home, thought about it overnight, came back the next day and took it. They held the appraisal exactly as quoted. That’s how it should work.” — Tasha O., Sunrise

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take loose retro cartridges or only CIB?
We take both. Loose carts are priced on condition and recent comps. CIB pays meaningfully more — typically 2x to 5x for common titles, much more for grails like Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, or Pokemon Crystal.
How do you price WATA or VGA graded sealed games?
We comp against recent Heritage Auctions, Goldin, PWCC, and major eBay sold listings. The numerical grade, the seal grade, print variant, and title demand all matter. We’ll show you the comps we’re working from.
Will you take games I think are fake or reproduction carts?
We test for authenticity on valuable cartridges — chip type, label print, board markings, weight. Reproduction Pokemon Emerald carts are extremely common and we won’t pay real prices for repros. We’ll tell you honestly either way.
Do you buy modded consoles, like a chipped PS2 or hard-modded original Xbox?
Case-by-case. Cleanly modded consoles can have collector value to a specific buyer; sloppy mods reduce value. Bring it in and we’ll evaluate.
Can I pawn my sealed graded games and get them back later?
Yes. Graded sealed games are excellent collateral — they’re certified, condition is locked, and value is well-documented. Loans from $5 to $50,000, no credit check, your slab stays in our vault.
Do you take import games and consoles (Japanese, PAL)?
Yes — Japanese Famicom, Super Famicom, Saturn, and Japan-only PS1/PS2 titles all have collector demand. CIB Japanese sealed games carry premiums in the right titles.
What about strategy guides and gaming magazines?
Some strategy guides have real collector value — original Pokemon Red/Blue Nintendo Player’s Guide, Earthbound Player’s Guide, and certain Prima/BradyGames first editions. Bring them in.
How much can I pawn or sell my collection for?
Anywhere from $5 to $50,000 depending on what you have. A bin of loose PS2 games might be a few hundred dollars; a single graded WATA 9.6 sealed grail can be tens of thousands. Bring everything and we’ll appraise it all in one visit.
Ready for a Free Video Game Appraisal?
