The honest answer to “what are my sports cards worth?” depends on three things: the card, its condition, and current market velocity. We’re going to walk you through how the pros price cards — and why bringing them into Advantage Pawn in Miami Gardens or West Park is the fastest way to get a real, comp-backed number.

Three Levers That Set Card Value

1. The card itself. Player, set, year, parallel, serial number. A 1986 Fleer Jordan #57 is a different conversation than a 1986 Fleer Karl Malone, even from the same set. Modern parallels matter — a Prizm rookie auto in silver is one number, in red /99 it’s another, in gold /10 it’s another entirely.

2. Condition or grade. A raw card and a slabbed card are priced differently. PSA, BGS, CGC, and SGC are the four major graders with transparent population data. A PSA 10 vs PSA 9 of the same modern rookie can be a 3-5x price gap. For raw, we look at centering (60/40 or better), corners, edges, and surface.

3. Market velocity. Some cards trade every day on eBay; some sit for months. We pull live comps from PSA Auction Prices Realized and Card Ladder, then adjust for fees and sell-through. A “$1,000 card” on eBay is closer to $850 net after fees, shipping, and PayPal — that’s the real number we work from.

Don’t Trust the First Number You See

eBay completed listings can be misleading. Buy It Now prices that never sold are aspirational. A single high outlier sale doesn’t make a market. We look at the last 5-10 actual sales and weight the median. If you bring in a card and we tell you a number, we’ll show you the screenshots.

What to Bring

Slabs in their original holders. Raw cards in toploaders or sleeves. Sealed product in the condition it lives in. A government-issued photo ID (Florida law for pawn transactions). Any written competing offers — we beat them.

Walk-In, Free Appraisal, No Obligation

The free appraisal takes 10-30 minutes for most submissions. If we agree on a number, you walk out with cash the same day. If we don’t, you walk out with a free education and your cards.
